Gottlieb is one of the all-time great names in coin-operated devices, largely due to their amazing line of pinball machines that were Chicago-born and -bred until the company’s demise in 1996. In the 1930s, Gottlieb marketed a line of one-cent countertop strength-measuring grip testers. The dial has charts for men and women. The test is simple: grab both levers and either push them inwards or outwards. The display shows your peak measurement.
